The Bothy is a hand-built hillside cabin at Nether Glenny Farm in the Menteith Hills, designed as a peaceful retreat for two people and a dog. Crafted from locally sourced larch and set into the hillside, it offers complete privacy, wide skies and uninterrupted views across open countryside.
There are no neighbouring properties here — just hills, wildlife and the gentle presence of our Highland cattle grazing nearby. The Bothy is fenced, allowing you to enjoy the farm setting while retaining space, quiet and seclusion.
Life at The Bothy follows a gentle rhythm. Tranquil mornings with coffee on the deck, afternoon hikes straight from the cabin, and long evenings soaking in the wood-fired hot tub before a nightcap as the sun sets and the stars appear.

Inside The Bothy
The Bothy has an open-plan living space designed for comfort and simplicity. A large sofa, wood-burning stove and dining area sit alongside a compact but well-equipped kitchen, finished with thoughtful design details, cosy blankets, and carefully chosen furnishings that make the space feel completely bespoke.
Climb the ladder to the mezzanine bedroom, where a king-size bed sits beneath the eaves. Dressed in crisp organic cotton bed linen, a sumptuous duvet and soft throws, it’s a cosy place to fall asleep beneath a small window that frames the night sky.
Outdoor living and the hot tub
South-facing bifold doors open onto the front deck, where a table and chairs invite you to linger over morning coffee or a leisurely meal outdoors. After a walk into the Menteith Hills, sink into the wood-fired hot tub and ease away any strains while watching the sunset or marvelling at the star-filled dark sky.
On the back deck, you’ll find two separate private rooms: one housing the eco toilet, the other a piping-hot electric shower. For the brave, there’s also the option of hanging a shower bag from a nearby tree for a cold drench before plunging back into the warmth of the hot tub.
Cooking and comfort
The cabin kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare a hearty meal, but if you fancy a night off, you can order a delicious home-cooked dish from our Dine In menu. There are many ways to cook at The Bothy: bake a pizza in the wood-fired oven, cook over the Hikki grill, fire up the BBQ, or keep things simple with the Sage mini oven or double hob.
Heating is provided by the wood-burning stove, making The Bothy warm and cosy year-round. All firewood is provided, along with towels, bathmats, bathrobes and organic body wash, shampoo and hand soap.
