Please note that you should not use your sat nav for the last mile as it will take you to the wrong house - the joys of living in a rural location! Matt or I will meet you on arrival. From the north

On the A84 at Callander take the Glasgow road at the traffic lights and continue about 5 miles to a T Junction. Turn right to Port of Menteith. Pass through the village and find our drive on the right after a further 3/4 mile. Take note of Portend Farm on your left and the drive opposite which is marked with white stones. Take the turning up the hill opposite the sign which says Lake View Cottages. You’ll see a sign saying NO THROUGH ROAD on the hill, please disregard.

From the south

M9 & Stirling take the A84 signed Callander and after seeing Blair Drummond adventure park take the A873 signed Trossachs. Follow signs for Port of Menteith/Aberfoyle to Port of Menteith. Pass through the village and find our drive on the right after a further 3/4 mile. Take note of Portend Farm on your left and the drive opposite which is marked with white stones. Take the turning up the hill opposite the sign which says Lake View Cottages. You’ll see a sign saying NO THROUGH ROAD on the hill, please disregard.

From Glasgow

Follow signs for Aberfoyle A81. At the mini roundabout at Aberfoyle take the second exit for Callander. Follow the A873 for about 3 miles to find our drive on the left. Take note of Portend Farm on your right and the drive opposite which is marked with white stones. Take the turning up the hill opposite the sign which says Lake View Cottages. You’ll see a sign saying NO THROUGH ROAD on the hill, please disregard. If you enter Port of Menteith you’ve gone too far.

Once on the hill continue on it all the way to the top. Nether Glenny is 1000m from the bottom of the hill. Follow Nether Glenny signs on your way up the hill.

Things you’ll find in your accommodation

Bed linen, bath towels, tea towels, 2 bin bags, 2 toilet rolls/ loo, ecover washing up liquid, eco sponge, cloth, fair-trade tea, coffee, sugar, salt/ pepper, some books, a few dishwasher tablets in Buzzard, matches, kindling and a starter basket of logs. Wood is supplied for the duration of your stay in The Bothy and if you’re staying in Kestrel or Buzzard more logs can be purchased from The Pantry. You’ll find some biscuits in your cottage and We don’t supply milk if you need a jug of milk on arrival please just let us know when you arrive.

Things you should bring with you

Clothes for all seasons, walking shoes or wellies, a waterproof jacket and a torch for an evening walk. Slippers are always nice too. You can hire hot tub towels and bathrobes from us, however if you’d prefer to bring your own then please do. We ask that you do not use our white bath towels at the hot tub. If you’re bringing your dog please don’t forget rubbing down towels, poo bags and a basket. If you forget to bring an old towel or dog bowl then we will be happy to lend you one.

Shopping before you arrive at Nether Glenny Farm

We support shopping local to help sustain the rural economy and independant business. You can stop off in Aberfoyle or Callander for some groceries before arriving. In Aberfoyle we recommend the following:

The Aberfoyle deli, Co op, Maggie’s cake shop and The Village Store ( located at the garage ) For farm shopping please visit The Smiddy in Blairdrummond. Finally don’t forget to order some yummy homecooked meals from us, jam, chutney, honey or a Highland Cow gift or Countryside home scent if you’re staying for a special occasion; see our online shop @ The Pantry. We can have your food and gifts in the cottage for you on arrival.
